There is a sense of deep accomplishment in witnessing, the products of our country reach international markets. It is indeed a matter of pride that the first time ever GI- tagged figs are exported to Germany.

I have been keen on exporting Purandar figs to international market. However Figs are highly perishable and thus such an initiative needed deep research and impeccable planning. I encouraged the farmers of Purandar to focus on the export process of figs in such a way that the quality of it is sustained. These efforts have been successful and the Purandar figs are gaining a foothold in the European market.

Congratulations to the Purandar Highlands Team for their hard work and dedication! I wish all the fig growers and the Purandar Highlands team to reach new heights in this field of agriculture!
